Wow, what a great time had by all at the May 10208 Council Meeting. The usual Kudus go out to Ken Silvers and his Food Service and the refreshment center manned by Steve Schramer and Ted Otero was a hit as always.

All the Knights and Guests present were able to view all of the awards Council 10208 was presented with at the State Convention. Just to recap, Council 10208 was recognized with six major awards, the most of any council.

The Family of the Year went to Bob and Mary Anne Honzik. This is the second straight year that a couple from Hot Springs Village and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish will be representing the state of Arkansas at the annual Supreme Convention! Walter and Judy Free won in 2018.

The large council award for the highest per capita donations to the state’s “Just Ask” program. This fundraiser supports the state council’s charitable.

The large council award for the highest per capita donations in the Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. Council 10208 raised $33,000, which was more than the other 62 councils in the state combined!

The Supreme Council’s new Faith-in-Action initiative divides all programs into one of four categories: Faith, Community, Life and Family. At the state convention, awards for each of these areas were presented; Council won two of the four, Faith and Community!

And Last but not least Council 10208 was awarded “Large Council of the Year”. This is given to Councils with 100 or more members and it recognizes an organization’s entire body of work for the fraternal year.

Next up was the presentation of the Family of the Month and the Knight of the Month. Congratulations to the Family of the Month for April 2019, Mark and Michele Lukasavige and John Broome receiving the Knight of the Month for April 2019.

Our two newest Knights, Jim Culpepper and Jack Wilson received their certificates.

The Council was presented with a Special Presentation of a short film giving an overview of the Priests Circle project. This initiative was spearheaded by brother Bob Honzik and produced by Brother Knights Ed Voss and Jim Anderson. Council 10208 was the major fundraiser. And last on the Agenda before the business meeting was a presentation by Carolyn Bowers and Donna Aylward on the Catholic Community Foundation. They did a great job of giving an overview of what the foundation is about and how to get involved. For more information, click here: http://thecatholiccommunityfoundation.org/
