The award for December goes to Russ and Sheila Harrison (r). Russ is quite active in the Knights, Men’s Club and Church. Russ is a server at mass on Sundays and funerals. He is a VIRTUS Facilitator (protecting God’s children) with 245 trained volunteers. He has also been involved with the pickup, sorting, and delivery of the Christmas Food Baskets. For the Men’s Club, he is in charge of the ticket sales and was a waiter for the chicken and the fish bakes. For the Knights, he is involved with CPID, setting up and taking down the American flags, ticket sales and decorations for the Christmas and the New Year’s Eve dinner parties. He is currently a trustee for the 4th degree after having served as Faithful Navigator. He has been a past President of the Men’s club and 3rd degree Grand Knight.
Sheila is very involved in the church and community. Besides being a lector, she is also an active participant in the Scripture Study Series and is a member of the Mother Teresa Guild of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart. In addition, she is the recycle chairperson for the Ladies, is a Christmas elf helper and delivers Christmas Food baskets. She also is the past President of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart. In the community, she volunteers for the 3rd grade at Mountain Pine Schools, has been past President of the Lady Duffers Golf League, and was a Hot Springs regional reporter for the Arkansas Catholic.

He chaired the set-up committee for the recent Treasure Sale. He is an active participant in the Cedar Mountain Singers, Hot Springs Men’s Chorus, Barber Shop Chanticleers and Resurrection Choir. He says in his spare time he functions as the assistant treasurer for the Hot Springs Symphony Guild.
Martha is a member of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart. She also volunteers 5 hours a week at Mercy Hospital as a courier, transporting patients to various facilities in the hospital, delivering mail and flowers to patients, and assisting with the discharge of patients. She is also a member of the Resurrection Choir and Cedar Mountain Singers. She also helped with the Treasure Sale by working as a cashier. Martha tells me her biggest responsibility is making sure that Tom gets to his meetings and activities at the appointed time. Please give Tom and Martha a warm welcome as they receive this important honor for Family of the Month.

Being a Deacon, Larry is very involved with assisting Father Bill at mass along with homilies when requested and gives reflections at daily mass once every two weeks. He helps in praying the patriotic rosary and with funeral preparation for the mass of the deceased.
He attends meetings involving the Pastoral Council, Liturgy Commission and Educational Commission. He also instructs and trains the Extra Ordinary Ministers for Communion to the home bound. He leads the rosary at our Tuesday dinner meetings.
Jan Lipsmeyer is a member of the Village Quilt Guild and the Pastoral Council. She also schedule and trains the Extra Ordinary ministers for communion at Mass. And lastly, she is the chairperson of the Liturgy Commission. Let’s all welcome Larry and Jan on this important honor.
