Ed and Claudia Keearns and Marvin and Lucy Young have been selected as co Families of the Month for December for their respective coordination and efforts related to the Christmas Basket Charity Program. Ed’s leadership extends beyond Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish to a communitywide effort involving over 22 churches and agencies and providing food and presents to 160 families with 550 children in need throughout the area.
Ed also serves as a special advocate for CASA, coordinates the weekly delivery of donated food items from the Parish to Jackson House and is a member of the Honor Guard.
Claudia works closely with Ed on the Christmas Basket Charity Program, specifically with the Ladies of Sacred Heart and the Angel Tree. She was also very active in the Parish Treasure Sale.
Marvin and Lucy coordinated the food delivery from Project Hope and its distribution into the boxes for individual family delivery. Marvin and Lucy also volunteer their time at Jackson House every Tuesday.
Thanks to both these Families of the Month for their Christian giving of their time and talents.

They also serve as the Pro-Life Couple for the Arkansas State Council and are Sidewalk Prayer Warriors at the Little Rock abortion mill. Jim and Patricia originated and have administered the St. Philomena email Prayer List for the past 13 years. They also deliver Meals on Wheels.
They both serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Jim serves our Council as the Pro-Life Director and Patricia is a member of St. Martha Guild of this Parish.

He teaches in the RCIA program, leads one of the discussion groups on the Revisions to the Roman Missal, and is a Marriage Advocate for the Diocese, working with individuals and couples seeking to rectify marriages outside of the Catholic Church.
As a certified health care ethicist, he gives talks on making medical decisions, end-of-life decision making,and advance medical directives. John volunteers with Meals on Wheels, is one of the collection volunteers for CPID and with his wife has volunteered to call Bingo at Good Sam's.
John is an ex-officio member of the Pastoral and the Finance Councils, and a member of the Liturgical and the Education Commissions. He is responsible for training new lectors and leads funeral vigil services in addition to his other diaconate duties.
Nancy joined the St. Monica Guild as soon as they arrived in the Village and is Co-Chair of the Guild. With a long background in Liturgical Art and Environment, she has volunteered to help with this sub-committee of the Liturgical Commission here at Sacred Heart. Last year Nancy volunteered at the Treasure Sale and was put to work throughout that event. With John she has volunteered to call Bingo at Good Sam's and with John takes communion to a homebound parishioner.
