Bob and Ann Bowman have been selected as Family of the Month for March in recognition of their overall volunteer efforts in serving the church and community. Bob, along with Russ Harrison, was instrumental in selling tickets for the Mardi Gras Party that resulted in another successful event for this Council. Bob also has been volunteering with the disaster team in cleaning up trees damaged by last April’s storm event. Bob also volunteers twice a week with Habitat for Humanity.
Ann has offered her talents in coordinating the visitation program as a part of the Helping Hands ministry of this Parish. Both Bob and Ann have assisted in the Blind Camp Bowlers event.
Thanks, Bob and Ann, for your leadership and volunteer efforts.

Deacon Bernie Bauer and his wife, Marilyn, have been named by the Officers as February’s Family of the Month and is given primarily to recognize the many years of service they both have given to this parish and this Council. They have been recognized as Family of the Month at least five times by this Council during the past fifteen years, one of which was as Supreme Family of the Month.
Marilyn has been a long time member of the St Jude Guild.
Bernie celebrated his 89th birthday in February, and it is our hope that he and Marilyn will celebrate several more.
Dan and Kathy Murphy are January’s Family of the Month for their numerous volunteer efforts for this Council, this parish and our community. Dan currently serves as this Council’s Warden and has served in the capacities of Inside and Outside Guards. He is a disaster relief team member and delivers “Meals on Wheels” (including chairing this campaign this month). For the past 6 years, Dan has served Sacred Heart’s Men’s Club as its secretary.
Kathy and Dan deliver food monthly from the Parish to Jackson House. They have called bingo at Greenwood Manor and have volunteered to help with residents during the renovation of their health clinic. Kathy and Dan have delivered Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets the past 3 years. For the past 5 years, Kathy has cooked 25 pounds of rice and Dan has prepared shrimp creole for our annual Mardi Gras celebration and intend to do so again this year.
Kathy is a member of St Martha’s Guild and works with a second grade teacher at Mountain Pine School assisting with activities, providing treats and school supplies for the students as well as hats and scarfs for Christmas.
