February's Family of the Month was awarded to Rick and Sandy Darnell at the March 2nd Council meeting.
The well-deserved award was presented to them by Grand Knight Murray Claassen for the extensive relationships they have with the church and its various organizations they participate.

Perpetual adoration adorer

Volunteer at Mountain Pine school with the first graders.

Set up Ticket sales for MM&D and other special events.
Lower hall decorations for events.
Helps other councils with their electronics and streaming of council meetings.

43rd Annual March for Life

The 43rd Annual March for Life will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021, in Little Rock at 2:00 p.m. The observance is a peaceful and prayerful event that attracts thousands of Arkansans from across the state including churches and families to remember the estimated 60+ million unborn children who have been killed by legal abortion.
This event, sponsored by Arkansas Right to Life, will remember the 48th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States on January 22, 1973.
Staging begins at 1:30 p.m. between Battery and Wolfe Streets on West Capitol Avenue behind the Arkansas State Capitol. At 2:00 p.m. President Andy Mayberry will lead the marchers along with elected officials, invited dignitaries, and other special guests to the steps of the State Capitol for a brief program.
Arkansas Right to Life, the state’s oldest and largest pro-life organization, is an affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee, the leading voice of the voiceless dedicated to protecting all human beings threatened by abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia.

The Daniel Patrick Sullivan Council 10208 of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and the Fr. Victor A. Bieberle Assembly 2316, while conducting their annual 9 Day Novena For Life, were blessed by the opportunity to put their faith and resources into charitable community action. The story of these efforts demonstrates how our Knights’ principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism can inspire an entire community with ecumenical cooperation and service doing Christ’s work.
A local independent pharmacist, Dr. Michael Butler, took exceptional personal initiative to purchase freezers capable of storing the Pfizer vaccine; he soon received the desperately needed vaccine. Using the resources of his several “Health Mart” pharmacies and medical supply businesses, his personnel vaccinated the locally designated Phase 1 front-line priority personnel, i.e., local nursing home residents, medical staff, police, teachers, firefighters, etc.
He realized that as the economy of the vaccination scale increased, a tremendous amount of administrative assistance for parking, traffic control, scheduling, registering, recording, record-keeping, processing, verification, insurance recording, et al., would require extreme planning, coordination, and community assistance.
Michael found a location with tremendous facilities to enable providing large scale community immunization—Balboa Baptist Church within the Village. When adequate amounts of vaccines were on hand, and as soon as the Governor authorized Phase 2 immunizations of 70 year and older citizens, the initiatives paid off. We were ready to meet the immunization challenges.
Forty-two Council 10208 Knights, including thirty Assembly 2316 Sir Knights, assisted in immunizing over 2,000 elderly residents on January 21st and 22nd—100 an hour for ten hours each day. In another week, the process will repeat for more residents. It seemed unique to some that the Council Chaplain and Assembly Faithful Friar, in roman tab-collar and Knight’s gear, was among the Knight volunteers pitching in at the Baptist facility.
These Knights and other volunteers will be there and assist with the second shots three weeks later. As increasing quantities of vaccine arrive, these Knights are committed to supporting the immunization effort for all residents within their Hot Springs Village—the largest gated community in the country. The staff and members of the Balboa Baptist Congregation did a tremendous amount of administrative work, provided their equipment and resources, and led the effort.

At the conclusion of the wait time, Knights collected all paperwork, ensured vaccination cards and appointment cards had been received, issued another registration questionnaire for the second shot, and answered any questions that arose. Knights also arranged golf-cart or wheel- chair assistance when needed.

Yip! We can do Spaghetti!
January 15th will go down as one of the greatest days in the spaghetti history books as the Knights of Columbus Drive Through Spaghetti event was held. The one hour and thirty minute event served 263 dinners making it the most successful fund raising event this year.

Russell Tessier was the recipient for Knight of the Month while Jeff and Cathy Silk received the Family of the Month Award.

Each year, from early March through mid-December, eight Silver Roses are stewarded by Knights of Columbus councils along routes from Canada to Mexico. Every stop the Silver Rose makes throughout the pilgrimage is a rosary-centered occasion for Knights, parishioners and community members to pray for respect for life, for the spiritual renewal of each nation, and for the advancement of the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
On Thursday, November 5th the Knights of Columbus, Council 10208, sponsored the Silver Rose program to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe. The devotion is part of the KofC Silver Rose program and honors Our Lady as the patroness of the Americas and affirms the sanctity of all human life. Knights carry the Silver Rose from city to city, district to district, and council to council from Canada to the Basilica in Mexico City. The Silver Rose will arrive in Mexico City on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The rose symbolizes one of the roses that fell from the cloak of Saint Juan Diego when he delivered the Virgin’s message to his Bishop on December 12, 1531.
The Silver Rose Prayer Service included a Rosary, Mass, and additional Prayers. Gary Wolfer, Mike Kerwin and Russ Harrison escorted and posted the Rose at the front of the alter. Fr. Bill celebrated the special mass and Bob Bowman led the congregation in the “Silver Rose” Rosary.

Twenty Seven Brother Knights attended the meeting to honor our newest recruit.
Mike was born in Arkansas and worked on the Cotton Belt/Southern Pacific Railroad for 33 years before retiring the first time. He then took on a new career as a railroad consultant for American Rail Marketing for seven and a half years before retiring again only to buy a farm and sawmill in Eagle Rock, MO. After 13 years Mike retired for the last time. He moved to Hot Springs Village in 2018. Mike is a widower and has four children, 9 grandchildren, 5 grandchildren.
We would also like to welcome two Brother Knights that transferred to our council Bruce Foster and Alan Borough.
He was exemplified on Sunday, October 18th by our Council's Exemplification Team. God Bless these Knights for their duty to our Council. Bill Patterson, Gerald Krawczynski, Tom Donnelly, and Mike Kerwin.

Sir Knights festooned the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church early in the morning by posting over 60 large American Flags around the church facilities. They then gathered together in church to say the Madjugorie "Patriotic Rosary" for the consecration of our nation, followed by morning Mass.
The Assembly Faithful Friar, Fr. Bill Elser, led the rosary, with past and current Faithful Navigators leading each decade. Over 85 Knights, wives and parishioners were present to join in either prayers and/or the morning Mass.
