Mike and Chris Frantz |
Mike retired from the Navy in 1989 and worked for a security company as an installation project manager until July of 2004. Chris kept busy working with food services in the San Diego & Chula Vista School Districts and providing support for Navy wives and families of deployed sailors. Growing tired of the ever increasing congestion of the San Diego area, they relocated to Hot Springs Village in autumn, 2004.
Mike has been a continuous member of the Knights of Columbus since 1963 and in the past five years, as a member of Council 10208, has been selected as Knight of the month three times. He has served as Outside and Inside Guard, Warden, and Chancellor; is a member of the First Degree Team and tends the refreshment bar for council meetings and social activities. He volunteers as a driver at the McCauley Center and provides/coordinates its lawn maintenance; provides/coordinates maintenance services at the Boys & Girls Club; coordinates the maintenance of the Sacred Heart rectory yard; volunteers at the east gate to the Village; and coordinates Council support for National Camps for Blind Children. He also participates in support of Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Helping Hands, the Disabilities Fund Drive, and the Disaster Response Team.
Chris is a member and co-captain of St Anthony's Guild and is always involved with its activities. She assists with the National Camps for Blind Children and also volunteers at the animal shelter, Potter's Clay, Arkansas Rice Depot, Meals on Wheels, and at the east gate to the Village.
In giving unselfishly of their time to a variety of service and charitable causes, they truly model the type of volunteerism espoused by the Knights of Columbus.
