Bob and Kay Kostelecky |
Bob and Kay Kostelecky were chosen Family of the Month for October. Married for 49 years, they have three children, all of whom are Texas A&M grads. Bob joined the knights on December 1, 1970 and advanced to the 3rd degree a few weeks later. They moved to the Village in 2001 from Texas City TX, leaving Bob's position as Director of Physical Plant for College of the Mainland and Kay's as Marketing Manager for LGS Technologies.
Earlier Bob was the liaison to the diocese for designing and building a church and rectory in Lancaster TX, where they were both very active in their church and community. Bob was President of the Lion’s Club there and is a member of the Lion's Club in the Village. He was a member of the Texas City Council and serves the POA here on the Public Works Commission and the Architectural Control Committee.
Continuing his work with the church at Sacred Heart of Jesus, he was parish liaison for the Administrative and Education Building, for the upgrade of the church to meet building codes, and for building a new rectory. He is a member of the Building Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Men’s Club.
Kay has held several different jobs in both the public and the private sectors as she was raising a family, furthering her education, and volunteering in both the schools and in her church as well as serving on a Library Board. A member of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Kay is in St Monica’s Guild. She is President of a local floral design club called Designing Women Study Club.
Congratulations to both Bob abd Kay as they truly represent the knights’ principles of service to Church and Community.
