Bob_Honzik

Bob and Mary Anne Honzik have resided in the Village for 12 years, during which time both have been very active in their church and community.  Bob joined the Knights of Columbus in 2001 and became a 4th Degree member in 2002. 

Bob was chosen Knight of the Month in February 2003, November 2003, and May 2005; he was Knight of the Year in 2002-2003.  Bob and Mary Anne were selected as Family of the Month in February 2006, August 2006, and July 2007.

Bob served as Council 10208's Membership Director for six years, 2003-2009, during which time the Council earned Star Council status each year, due in a large part to his efforts in recruiting new members.  For nine years he championed the cause of "Walking with Karen"  and developed a fund to help a young disabled  Indian girl from the Honduran mountains overcome her disability, earn an education, and become a confident adult.  

As a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, he is an usher and a member of the Finance Committee.  He previously chaired the Fund Raising Committee for the parish building program and served on the Parish Building Committee.

Active in the community, Bob is a member of the  Friends of the Village and the Village Community Foundation.  He chaired a POA Promotions Committee, helped to develop Right Choice and Right Choice II Village Video Promotions, and brought the fund raising event, “Wine and Roses,” to the Village for six years.  Most recently he served on the POA  Ad Hoc Committee for an assessment increase.

Bob continues to be a strong advocate for his council, church, and community.
