The membership director reports to the grand knight and chairs the Retention Committee.  He works closely with the Board of Directors in determining the membership goals for the fraternal year.  Supreme has currently set a target of a 7% increase in membership each year.   Achieving this target is one of the criteria for earning the Star Council award.

He confers with the financial secretary to get the number of new members needed as well as to keep track of reinstates, and transfers.  Retention is an important part of his responsibilities, as members who do not renew each year must be made up in new members.
