The Daniel P. Sullivan council, 10208, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Hot Springs Village won the award for the subject period, "Large Council of the Year", for the state of Arkansas (33 of the 56 councils in the state are in this category).  This the first time our Council has won this award, but I do not believe it will be the last, given the make-up of our membership and the activities it undertakes.

This award covers a period from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 which means that it takes into consideration the input from two of our Council periods (2009-2010 and 2010-2011).  To all the Officers, Directors, Chairmen, Volunteers, this is your award, in recognition of what you accomplished during this period.

Special recognition has to go to our Past Grand Knight, John Bodensteiner, since I believe that it was all the special programs and activities he added during his tenure that put us over the top for this award.  Thanks also to those who gathered the data and helped write the descriptions for the six categories of awards.  Providing complete and accurate documentation is an absolute requisite to win this honor.

Our Council also won the Family Service Activity Award again for the Memorial Mass and Dinner. It appears that at this time no other council has an activity for this category that can top ours. This next year we have to make a special effort to get Bishop Taylor to attend.
