The purpose of the Junior Golf Association is to foster, encourage, and promote junior golf activities for young golfers between the ages of 8 and 18 by accomplishing the following:
1. To teach the fundamentals of the golf swing.
2. To provide opportunities for development of social, physical, emotional and mental skills.
3. To teach the rules, etiquette and sportsmanship of golf.
4. To secure instructional practices, playing privileges and other concessions.
5. To develop lifelong golfers who will continue to play long after the program is over.
This year there were 280 junior participants and 245 volunteers donating 3,650 hours. There are currently 14 juniors on scholarships valued at $2,000 each ($500 per year).
