Following a heartfelt message by Brother Eisenhauer at its March 1 meeting, the Council gave $300 from its Pennies from Heaven fund to assist Alyce Bertrand and her family.  The following is an excerpt from the flier prepared by Ike's wife, Sonya, about her cousin, and it was circulated  among the members.

"Alyce  is my 11 year old cousin from Eunice, Louisiana.  She was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as an infant and has been in and out of the hospital many times in her 11 years.  We recently found out that she will need a lung transplant.  I promised her I would pray for the angels to be close to her and give her courage and hope.

I want to do a little more for Alyce, and I need your help.  Let’s shower Alyce with angels!  Please draw, make, cut out, or find an Angel for Alyce. (Be creative!)  Send an encouraging note or prayer with your angel to:   ANGELS FOR ALYCE, 71 Empinado Way, Hot Springs Village AR 71909.

As you can imagine, the hospital bills are insurmountable, and her family and friends are doing several fundraisers for her, and an account is set up at Guaranty Bank in Eunice LA.  If you are able and would like to make a donation, please send it with your Angels for Alyce.  Make checks payable to the Alyce Bertrand Medical Fund.

Most importantly, keep Alyce and her family (Shane, Ann, and brother, Wyatt) in your prayers.  Share this with everyone in your youth groups, clubs, etc. and encourage them to spread their wings for Alyce!"
