The recorder's duties are similar to those of a court reporter or a secretary.  He is responsible for maintaining a true record of all actions of the council and its correspondence in the specific medium specified by the council. 

He records the minutes of the Board of Director meetings and the membership meetings. The minutes are reviewed by the grand knight before being posted on the web site, either by the recorder himself, by the communications director, or his designee.
